The choice of proper equipment

The effectiveness of jigging does not need to be advertised. Many of you present your blade bait lures and tail spinners in this way. Kogut lures have been designed for vertical fishing and they reveal their true value precisely in this method. A good presentation of kogut lures needs a short rod (1,8m to 2,4m) with a very fast tip action and a negligible deflection. Casting weight must be adjusted to the weight of lures. Fishing rods used when fishing with a kogut lure should have a high power, due to overloading occurring during the casting of bait and its handling. A choice of a line is also important. While fishing with kogut lures the braid line seems to be the best due to its limited extensibility that helps to see even the smallest bites. The use of too soft rod and classic line significantly reduces comfort and efficiency of fishing.

How to fish with a kogut lure?

Depending on the weight of the lure, we can look for fish at different depths in reservoirs, lakes, canals, rivers or the sea. Kogut lures suit both for use in water of one meter depth, as well as on slops of hills of several meters height. The best way of presenting the kogut is to perform short, simple and aggressive jumps. It is essential to keep a constant contact of bait with the bottom. The head tapping on rocky or gravel surface causes the predators' aggression, and colourful feathers and chenille flash subtly provoking the fish to attack. The kogut lure dropping to the bottom causes the sand particles to go up, forming the cloud, which attracts the attention of zanders. The classic lead can be modified depending on the nature of the fishery and preferences of the fish. Interweaving a series of individual, short jumps with longer, double bits may be the key to success. While fishing with kogut lures, it is worth to experiment with the weight of the head. To get aggressive work adored by zanders you should use relatively heavy bait even in a shallow fishery. Choosing the lure weighing 15-18g in a place where the depth reaches 3 meters is not an exaggeration. In colder seasons, as well as during fishing of other species of predatory fish, a good idea is a subtle conducting a kogut on lighter heads. Bites are usually delicate, so that each click, each vibration of the line or too long fall of the bait to the bottom should immediately be followed by a twist.

Kogut lures - not only for zanders

Many anglers treat kogut lures as baits designed solely for zander fishing. However, everyone who has tried kogut lures admits that they are also perfect for fishing pikes, perch, trout and other predators. Kogut lures open a wide range of applications, and everything depends on the choice of appropriate weight of the lure and the pace and manner of its conduct. In the case of zander, the most important criterion for success is aggressive presentation of the lure knocking on the bottom as well as pulsating work of feathers. In contrast, perch, pike or trout, are predators that due to the shallower fisheries and the way of feeding better respond to lighter bait, which can be subtly led near bottom, in the depths and
in rivers. The colour of the lure, the use of colourful contrast and aesthetic details that decide about efficiency of fishing are also important. As the only company on the market, we have equipped our kogut lures with big, expressive, red eyes, which attract attention and provoke an attack of even the most finicky fish!
