Despite bad forecasts, terrible conditions and matters to leave behind for a moment, we advance having in mind the views we miss, the river we dream of and fish we would stand against. The South Czech land and the beautiful Veltava river is one of such places. 

When we arrived there and joined the rest of the team, we expected enthusiasm which we could not find in our mates’ faces for a long time. We knew about the difficult task that was ahead of us and we would have to search for the fish aqnd each bait taking will be the effect of conscientious work. And so it was. 

After three days I got used to the falls. Rain, hail with short sunshine breaks, eventuall continuous snowfalls for two days. Nevertheless we fought and faced the weather overcoming our own weaknesses disguised by the Veltava every day. 

We visited numerous interesting places, but very few of them rewarded us with bait taking. Nevertheless, we caught fish and this was the most important thing.

The breakthrough took place on the third day of the travel when we came across an unknown so far section of the river. On the first throws we caught a few trout that are immense fighters. The effectiveness of the Big 4g, or Ćma [moth] 2,5g models did not surprise us, because we caught a lot of fish thanks to them in the previous years. 

This year we took the spinning tails  Crazy Bug 4g for the first time, thanks to which we could not complain about no emotions. Especially the eye-catching colours became a certain offer for trout. 

On the last day of our expedition the sunshine broke through the dense clouds and we happily said bye-bye to the river, which has taught us humbleness for another time.
